Online Gambling Group Party Poker Launches May Madness

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Party Poker is fast becoming a site where people love to go and place high value bets. This is the result of an announcement earlier this year that they would be charging a flat $10 rate on their SNGs. This means that the high stake players would be getting higher returns and Fridays would have higher value entry fee tournaments.

The site has now announced that it will be holding a $1 million guaranteed tournament this Saturday. This is the last month before the World Series, so it is holding a $600+$40 event with a structure that mimics a championship. The blinds for the tournament start at 25/50 with a 20,000 starting stack at 20 minute levels.

There will be 400 big blind stacks which will be  perfect practice for anyone trying to compete in the World Series. The entry fees of $600+$40 will dent most players pockets so they qualify for as little as $1. There will be feeder tournaments that will be held round the clock with a variety of fees that include $1, $4, $8, $10, $35 and $70. Players can also use their Party Points to enter the tournament.

A spokesman for the site said: “we have deliberately kept different ways to qualify for the Saturday tournament. A player can qualify using his Party Points, or he can pay $1, $4, $8, $10, $35, $70 or pay the direct entry fee of $600+$40.” He added, “we have also kept country specific free roll tournaments this week that will provide an opportunity for players to win seats.”
